Here's some exciting news for all Ed Sheeran fans! The singer-songwriter is all set to appear in the seventh series of the HBO fantasy drama, 'Game of Thrones'.
Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed the season 7 casting news on March 12 at a SXSW panel moderated by Game of Thrones stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The 26-year-old, seemed to confirm the news by posting a link on Twitter to a news story about his casting.
"For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie [Williams], and this year we finally did it," Benioff said.
A spokeswoman for HBO confirmed the appearance but did not provide details about the role that Sheeran, who just released the album Divide, will play.
