The Pakistan Supreme Court-appointed Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which is probing the Panama Papers case, has informed the country's apex court that it will not be able to finish its probe in the given 60-day time period due to the 'difficulties' created by some state institutions.

The JIT, on Monday, submitted its report to the Supreme Court bench overseeing the implementation of the Panama Papers verdict.

The bench observed that the JIT will not be able to complete their probe in the given time if hurdles are created in their work, Geo News reported.

Earlier, the JIT informed the apex court that not only some governmental departments have shown reluctance in handing over relevant records, but also some records have been tampered with.

The top court was hearing various issues surrounding the investigation.

The JIT also dismissed the allegations labelled against it in connection with the 'leaking' of a CCTV image of Hussain Nawaz's appearance before the team, the Dawn reported.

The JIT has reportedly told the court that a disciplinary action has been taken against an individual, suspected of involvement in leaking the image.

The bench ordered the attorney general and the legal team representing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's elder son, Hussain Nawaz, to submit their replies to the allegations labelled by the JIT by June 14.

Justice Ejaz Afzal said that the video recording of the interrogation by the JIT was allowed under Section 162.
