'World must remain united to fight against evil forces of terrorism': Prez

President Pranab Mukherjee has written to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan condoling the demise of those killed in the terrorist attack in Istanbul and said that the world community must remain united in its resolve to fight against the evil forces of terrorism.

"The world community must remain united in its resolve to fight against the evil forces of terrorism. Our hearts and prayers are with the bereaved families as well as those injured in the attacks," President Mukherjee said in his message.

"The terrorist attack in Istanbul last night has shocked us all. I would like to express my condolences for the victims of this gruesome tragedy and convey the sympathy and solidarity of the people of India for the people of Turkey in this difficult time," he added.

President Mukherjee also said this attack is another tragic reminder of the necessity for concerted action by the international community to fight the scourge of terrorism uncompromisingly.

As many as 41 people died in Istanbul terror attack of which 14 were foreign nationals.

The terror attack took place on June 29 in the Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
