Zachary Levi has been cast as 'Shazam.'
The actor, best known for NBC's Chuck, will star in the DC comic book adaptation 'Shazam', reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The book follows the story of a boy named Billy Batson, who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word "Shazam!"
The name is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, from which the big Batson derives his heroic attributes when in adult form.
David F. Sandberg is directing the film with script by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.
Levi will be next seen in Marvel's 'Thor: Ragnarok' as Fandral, one of Thor's companions.
