The American auto maker Ford that received an overwhelming response for its compact SUV EcoSport in India, is now planning to launch the next-generation Fiesta by early 2014. Based on the European Fiesta, the India bound version too will receive an entirely new design. And what is more interesting to know is the fact that the 2014 Fiesta will be priced about Rs. 1-1.5 lakh cheaper than the existing variant, in order to make it more affordable for the buyers.

If we look at the design, the 2014 Fiesta will have a EcoSport like front grille with chrome slats, revised bumper, fog lamps and head lights with a new bonnet. The car will also get revised tail lights and few other design changes at the rear. Since the Fiesta was upgraded in 2011 only, so the 2014 version of the car will mainly go through design changes.

Mechanically, the car is likely to remain the same, however the highly popular 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine can be fitted in the car, which also does its duty to the EcoSport. Other two engines 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel too will continue to power the 2014 Fiesta as well, the similar engines are also used in the EcoSport.

Just like the existing Fiesta petrol version, the 2014 Fiesta too will be offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission. Also, the diesel engine will have the existing five-speed manual transmission.

This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
