This is it folks, the car that almost entire nation was waiting ever since the expo, one of the biggest launches this year, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is finally coming on Monday – 6th of October! Maruti is touting it as the most feature rich car in its category and it is the most fuel efficient vehicle in the country with a tag of 26.3km/l (diesel) beating its closest rival Honda City.
Company has packed enough features on board and dressed it up in a premium package along with moderately powered fuel efficient motors, looks like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a mixed bag that seems to be a Honda City killer. Pricing will be a crucial factor when it comes to deciding the fate of Ciaz which as of now looks promising!
Adding on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz feature, the sedan comes loaded with projector headlamp and 16-inch multi spoke alloys wheels. On the inside, it gets 7-inch touchscreen ‘SmartPlay’ infotainment system, leather upholstery, full automatic AC with rear AC vents, etc.
Speaking about the engines, Ciaz is powered by both petrol and diesel engines. Ciaz petrol gets Suzuki’s K-Series engine, the motor belts out a healthy 91bhp of max power and 130Nm of peak torque, mated to a five speed manual gearbox while an automatic option will be available sometime later. Petrol delivers 20.73km/l certified fuel economy.
On the diesel front, Ciaz gets Fiat borrowed 1.3 litre Multijet diesel with variable geometry turbo dubbed as DDiS200. The motor generates 88.8 bhp of max power and 200Nm of max torque is mated to a five speed manual box only. Deliveries of the sedan will start from Monday itself.
