After being unveiled earlier this year the new generation V-Class will soon be available for deliveries. This is the only brand new product from the company for this year for the global market. The AMG GT might be showcased, but it might just not be the production ready model. Also, expect the MLC-Class to be showcased this year.

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class has been launched in Europe and has space for up to eight people and comes with cocoon of comfort, efficient driving pleasure and ample of safety features. With this vehicle the Stuttgart-based automotive manufacturer has got back into the MPV segment.

The new V-Class comes to the starting line with a new 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with two-stage turbocharger. This oil burner comes with three power output levels: The V 200 CDI develops 136bhp and a maximum torque of 330Nm, while the V 220 CDI generates 163bhp and 380Nm.

With a power output of 190bhp and also a peak torque of 440 Nm, the top-of-the-line V 250 BlueTEC engine has as much pulling power and agility as the previous 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine. The V 250 BlueTEC is equipped as standard with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission with direct shift lever and flappy shift paddles. The convenient automatic transmission is available as an optional extra for the V 200 CDI and V 220 CDI models.

The new V-Class has several standard safety features of which 11 are innovative for better driving assistance. They are based on radar, camera and ultrasound sensors, which were introduced in the new E-Class and S-Class under the name "Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive".

Even the standard equipment on the MPV does include Crosswind Assist. This also helps the driver to stabilise the V-Class in strong, gusting crosswinds, and ATTENTION ASSIST, which warns of inattention and drowsiness. There is also an option available for Active Parking Assist. It makes parking the new MPV as easy and convenient as parking a compact car. The same system that we have witnessed in the E-Class and the S-Class already.

There is also the option of 360° camera, DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control with COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, Traffic Sign Assist with wrong-way warning function, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, the LED Intelligent Light System and Adaptive Highbeam Assist. Several of these features on the V-Class are segment first. It also has the PRE-SAFE feature which is standard on all Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
