New Hyundai i10 specifications and pricing announced - UK

Hyundai that launched the new Grand i10 in the Indian car market last month, has now revealed the pricing and specification of the next generation i10 for the UK market. The compact hatchback will go on sale in the UK market from 30th January 2014, with priced starting at £8,345 (INR 515303.75).

The new generation i10 features a more expensive design both inside and out, while the interior gets new level of comfort, quality and safety equipments. It is equipped with a host of standard and optional equipment like automatic climate control, heated leather steering wheel and cruise control. The vehicle also features various safety features like tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electric stability control (ESC) and six airbags.

The new Hyundai i10 will be available with two petrol engines - a 1.0-litre three cylinder engine, which develops 65bhp at 5,500rpm and 94Nm of top torque at 3,500rpm. In manual form, it can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 14.9 seconds and has a top speed of 154kmph. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine churns out a maximum power output of 85bhp at 6,600rpm and 120Nm of top torque at 4,000rpm. When mated to manual transmission, it can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 12.3 seconds and attain a top speed of 170kmph.

Being 80mm longer, 6mm wider than its predecessor, the new generation i10 offers more legroom and luggage carrying capacity. For UK buyers, it will be available with up to seven exterior colours and 4 interiors colour trims depending on model. As standard, the S trim features 1.0-litre powertrain, cloth interior trim in black with beige inserts, 14-inch steel wheels, central locking, electric front windows, CD tuner + USB, daytime running lights, ISOfix and tilt adjust steering wheel as standard.

The range topping premium trim sports all the above features, and also gets Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, steering wheel controls, front fog lamps, rear speakers, drivers safety window, door mirror indicators, Emergency stop signal and others. All models are 5-seater, except the SE Blue Drive derivative, which is a 4-seater.

The vehicle is also available with some optional equipment, which includes metallic paint, 14 and 15 inch alloys, space saver emergency spare wheel, the connectivity pack, driver assist pack (rear parking sensors and cruise control with speed limiter).
