Tata motors have started taking the online pre-bookings for the upcoming Zest, the compact sedan will go on sale next month. Entitled to be the game changers in Tata's history Zest and Bolt, the former will be launched pretty soon followed by the hatchback Bolt. The duo brings along a new design philosophy 'DESIGNEXT', connectivity features 'CONNEXTNEXT', etc.
Tata Zest - Features
- Segment-first projector headlamps with LED parking lights and continuous strip LED tailamps.
- The vehicle rides on 15-inch alloy wheels.
- On the inside, Zest offers dual-tone dashboard in 'Java Black' and 'Latte' and a new speed sensitive electronic multi-function power steering.
- The central console features segment-first 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, specifically made for the Tata Zest by Harman. The system offers voice command inputs.
- The infotainment system also features, SMS read-outs, USB, SD card, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.
- The decibles are powered by an 8-speaker system.
- The compact sedan also features automatic climate control with touch inputs.
- The instrumentation cluster offers a simple two dial setup with 2.5-inch cental driver information screen.
Tata Zest – Engines
- Petrol – A new 1.2 liter Revotron turbo motor is under the hood of the Zest featuring turbocharging and Mutli-Point-Fuel-Injection (MPFI). The turbo motor produces 88.8bhp (90PS) @ 5000rpm of maximum power and 140Nm of max torque in the range of 1750-3000rpm. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission. The Zest petrol also features segment first multi-mode engine drive with Sports, ECO and City driving modes.
- Diesel - The diesel engine is the same Fiat borrowed 1.3 liter MJD featuring VGT (Variable-Geometry-Turbocharger) dubbed as quadrajet. The oil burner pumps out 88.8bhp (90PS) of max power at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm in the range of 1750-3000rpm. The Zest also features segment first F-tronic Automated-Manual-Gearbox (AMT) with Sports mode. Zest also offers five-speed manual in diesel.
