Tata Motors is prepping to launch Nano GenX this month on 19th, the thoroughly updated car will replace the Twist range. Tata Nano GenX will continue to rival Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon while it will steal the crown from Alto K10 - as country’s most economical automatic vehicle. Moreover, Tata dealerships across the country have started taking the bookings of the Nano GenX with an upward payment of Rs. 5,000.
Speaking of the AMT first, like Maruti's and Zest’s, Nano GenX Easy Shift also got the AMT - (Automated-Manual Transmission) from Magnetti Marelli. But unlike these, Nano offers a ‘Creep’ function, which helps vastly in maneuvering in city’s bumper to bumper traffic, as it starts crawling the vehicle after releasing the brakes without even using the accelerator. Power is delivered by the same rear-mounted 624 cc MPFI two-cylinder motor, extracting 38.19 bhp and a max torque of 51 Nm. Apart from the AMT, Nano continues to offer the 4-speed manual.
Nano GenX gets an appropriate aesthetic makeover to lift few wrinkles off this cute looking city car. Nano gets a new ‘smiling’ grille flanked around by fog lamps, smoked headlamps and glossy black applique with Tata logo. There are no changes to the side profile while the rear will mimic front bumper’s design. And the boot is now openable. On the inside, It gets new Zest/Bolt inspired steering wheel and refreshed instrumentation cluster.
