Now EcoSport can ordered without the rear mounted spare wheel in Europe and the 1.5-liter TDCI gets a power bump along with other mechanical and feature upgrades!
Ford of Europe has started taking bookings of the updated EcoSport. The updated EcoSport was first showcased earlier this year at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The compact SUV has received stylistic changes along with added features and mechanical updates. Speaking of India, Ford’s Chennai plant export the EcoSport to Europe, however, the company did not reveal any plans to update the EcoSport in the country. But its already over 2 years old and the vehicle is expected to receive an update soon in India, so it might offer updates from the Europe.
Speaking of the changes, the highlight of all is the removal of the rear mounted spare wheel. Now, customers can order the updated EcoSport without the mounted wheel or the regular one. In the vehicle without the rear mounted spare wheel, the licence plate has been moved up and the rear bumper has received subtle tweaks. On the inside, EcoSport gets a new steering wheel, piano black accents (instead of silver) and chrome detailing. The SYNC has been updated in the compact SUV, it now features a bigger 4â€Â'inch colour display in the centre console. The company has also promised that the NVH levels have further reduced with thicker sound deadening materials.
Ford says European EcoSport lineup will also get by the end of this year -satellite navigation and reverse parking camera assist. Moreover, there’s a new winter pack which offers heated windscreen, mirrors and front seats. And the Titanium models are now offered with standard partial leather-fabric seats.
The power of 1.5-litre TDCi diesel has been uprated to 95 PS, a 5 PS bump. Apart from it, mechanically, it received revised springs, dampers, rear torsion beam along with updated Electronic Stability Programme, and Electronic Power Assisted Steering settings.
