BPCL will be watched after Q4 results

BPCL's net profit rose 45.2% to Rs 2673.64 crore on 14.4% increase in net sales to Rs 65239.31 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017. The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 29 May 2018.

On a consolidated basis, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals' net profit fell 17.48% to Rs 151.63 crore on 7.28% decline in net sales to Rs 2247.89 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017. The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 29 May 2018.

Power Grid Corporation of India's net profit rose 4.6% to Rs 2004.68 crore on 16.5% increase in net sales to Rs 7811.32 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017. The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 29 May 2018.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals will be watched. With reference to the news report captioned 'Gas Leak reported at GNFC's TDI Unit in Dahej', the company clarified after market hours yesterday, 29 May 2018, that on 28 May 2018 at around 22:47 IST, a minor gas leak was noticed from absorption tower circulation pump. The same was immediately sensed by alarm and gas leak detector system and as a precautionary measure, immediate safe shutdown of the equipment was taken. The said leakage has remained localized and within the plant premise only, which was stopped in 13 minutes. As a matter of precaution and strict safety protocol, Rahiyad Villagers were immediately informed and alerted. Safe shutdown actions of the plant were taken.

As emergency safety actions, the company measured the extent of gas leakage repeatedly in the village areas and it was found that there were no traces of gases at all. On the contrary, safety protocols have been found to be very successful. Few villagers on their own insistence were examined by the company's doctors and all of them were found not affected by gas leakage and were declared safe and discharged.

The above incident was of a localized nature and it was for a very short duration leak and there was no gas ingress to area outside the plant. The plant will soon get operationalized after taking necessary actions. There is practically no impact on the business of the company since it is supplying material from the existing stock and from the company's TDI-I plant at Bharuch.
