Currency In Circulation Up More Than 12% This Fiscal

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation rose 1.1% on the week to stand at Rs 23.99 lakh crore as on 13th March 2020. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money edged up on the week by 0.2% to Rs 30.3 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose around 12.1% on a year ago basis compared to 17.5% jump at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has risen by 12.3% so far while the reserve money has increased by 9.3%.
