Hero MotoCorp rose 1.62% to Rs 2,590.40 at 14:49 IST on BSE after the company reported 11.25% rise in total sales to 6.39 lakh units in October 2015 over October 2014.
The announcement was made during trading hours today, 3 November 2015.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 74.21 points, or 0.28%, to 26,633.36.
On BSE, so far 12,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 31,169 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 2,596 and a low of Rs 2,538.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 3,271.80 on 1 December 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 2,252 on 8 May 2015.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 2 November 2015, rising 5.62% compared with 1.29% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had outperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 4.69% as against Sensex's 5.53% decline.
The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 39.94 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, reported sales of 6.39 lakh units in October 2015 its highest ever sales in any month.
With over 1.08 lakh units of scooters sold in October 2015, Hero MotoCorp crossed the landmark 1 lakh unit sales in scooters in a month. In the domestic market, Hero MotoCorp scooter sales grew by 74.6% in October 2015 over October 2014.
With this, the market share of Hero MotoCorp in the domestic scooter market has risen from 13% in September 2015 to almost 20% at the end of October 2015.
The highlight of October has clearly been the overwhelming success of the company's newly-expanded scooters range Maestro, Pleasure, and the two newly launched scooters - Maestro Edge & Duet. The success of the scooters, coupled with its over 52% share in motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp has further strengthened its overall leadership in the two-wheeler market.
Hero MotoCorp's net profit rose 1.13% to Rs 772.06 crore on 1.7% decline in net sales to Rs 6745.11 crore in Q2 September 2015 over Q2 September 2014.
Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of production capacity.
