Turnover in F&O segment jumps
The Nifty January 2019 futures traded at 10,715.55, a premium of 43.30 points from the Nifty's closing of 10,672.25 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 18.81 lakh crore compared with Rs 11.39 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 120.25 points or 1.11% to settle at 10,672.25
ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
ICICI Bank January 2019 futures traded at 363.30, compared with spot closing price of 362.10. Reliance Industries January 2019 futures traded at 1,097.50, compared with spot closing price of 1090.30. Tata Steel January 2019 futures traded at 482.80, compared with spot closing price of 480.90
The January 2019 F&O contracts expire on 31 January 2019.
