Nifty July 2017 futures trade at tiny discount

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment drops

The Nifty July 2017 futures traded at 9,515.20, at a tiny discount of 5.70 points over Nifty's closing of 9,520.90 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment fell to Rs 3.12 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 13.79 lakh crore registered on Thursday, 29 June 2017.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 16.80 points or 0.18% to settle at 9,520.90, its highest closing level since 23 June 2017.

Tata Steel, Vedanta, ITC, Indiabulls Real Estate and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Steel July 2017 futures traded at 536.70, at a discount compared with spot closing of 545.40.

Vedanta July 2017 futures traded at 250.35, at a premium compared with closing of 248.70. ITC July 2017 futures traded at 324.80, at a premium compared to spot closing of 323. Indiabulls Real Estate July 2017 futures traded at 200.50, at a premium compared to spot closing of 199.90. SBI July 2017 futures traded at 274.80, at a premium compared with spot closing of 273.55.

The July 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 27 July 2017.
