Turnover rises
Nifty March 2014 futures were at 6232.60, at a premium of 46.50 points over spot closing of 6186.10. Nifty February 2014 futures were at 6196.95, near spot closing. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 180654.75 crore from Rs 160822.69 crore on Friday, 21 February 2014.
State Bank of India February 2014 futures were at 1513.50, at a premium over spot closing of 1510.
L&T February 2014 futures were at 1081.30, at a discount compared to spot closing of 1082.50.
AXIS Bank February 2014 futures were at 1234, at a discount compared to spot closing of 1236.50.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty rose 30.65 points or 0.5% to settle at 6,186.10, its highest closing level since 24 January 2014.
The March 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 27 March 2014. The near-month February 2014 derivatives contracts expire on Wednesday, 26 February 2014. The stock market remains closed on Thursday, 27 February 2014, on account of Mahashivratri.
