Sun TV Network Q3 PAT rises 7% to 385 cr

Sun TV Network reported 7.15% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 384.69 crore in Q3 December 2019 from Rs 359.01 crore in Q3 December 2018.

Income from operations fell 9.74% to Rs 847.81 crore in the December quarter of FY20 from Rs 939.31 crore reported in the same period last year. Profit before tax stood at Rs 510.78 in Q3 FY20, down by 8.64% from Rs 559.07 crore in Q3 FY19.

On a standalone basis, Sun TV's net profit rose by 6.30% to Rs 373.45 crore on a 9.89% decline in income from operation to Rs 814.97 crore in Q3 December 2019 over Q3 December 2018. The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 14 February 2020.

The subscription revenues for the December quarter rose 18% at Rs 411.85 crore as against Rs 349.60 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The profit before tax for Q3 FY20 was at Rs 498.46 crore as against Rs 542 crore for the corresponding quarter ended on 31 December 2018, down by 8.03% year-on-year (YoY).

Sun TV Network operates satellite television channels across four languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League.

Shares of Sun TV ended 0.56% lower at Rs 496.45 on Friday.
