Triveni Engineering & Industries spurts after robust Q2 results

Triveni Engineering & Industries rose 5.77% to Rs 62.35 at 10:21 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit jumped 205.53% to Rs 67.92 crore on 49.69% rise in total income from operations to Rs 675.51 crore in Q2 September 2016 over Q2 September 2015.

The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 28 November 2016.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 199.33 points, or 0.76%, to 26,549.50.

On BSE, so far 3.61 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with average daily volume of 1.64 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 64.70 and a low of Rs 61.80 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 68 on 4 July 2016. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 33.90 on 9 December 2015. The stock had outperformed the market over the past 30 days till 28 November 2016, falling 3.52% compared with the 5.66% decline in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 10.19% as against Sensex's 7.03% decline.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 25.79 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

Triveni Engineering & Industries has core competencies in the areas of sugar and engineering. The company is one amongst the largest sugar manufacturers in India and the market leader in its engineering businesses comprising high speed gears, gearboxes, and water treatment solutions.
