Nifty March futures trade at small discount
The Nifty March 2018 futures traded at 10218.60, at a discount of 8.25 points from Nifty's spot closing of 10226.85 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 4.81 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 16.78 lakh crore registered in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 15.80 points or 0.15% to settle at 10,226.85.
Tata Steel, Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL), State Bank of India (SBI), Vedanta and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Tata Steel March 2018 futures traded at 611.20, at a discount from spot closing of 612.70. JSPL March 2018 futures traded at 223.20, at a premium over spot closing of 222.50.
SBI March 2018 futures traded at 253.60, at a discount from spot closing of 253.65. Vedanta March 2018 futures traded at 291, at a steep discount from spot closing of 305. ICICI Bank March 2018 futures traded at 294.50, at a premium over spot closing of 293.55.
The March 2018 F&O contracts expire on 28 March 2018.
