Nifty January 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

The January 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7574.20, at a premium of 5.90 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7568.30 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment increased to Rs 2.82 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 172.70 points or 2.23% to settle at 7,568.30, its lowest closing level since 7 September 2015.

Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Industries, Reliance Capital, Jet Airways (India) and Maruti Suzuki India were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE.

Reliance Infrastructure January 2016 futures traded at 567.40, at a premium over spot closing of 564.50.

Reliance Industries January 2016 futures traded at 1019.95, at a premium over spot closing of 1018.90.

Reliance Capital January 2016 futures traded at 419.70, at a premium over spot closing of 417.05.

Jet Airways (India) January 2016 futures traded at 746.05, at a premium over spot closing of 742.15.

Maruti Suzuki India January 2016 futures traded at 4309, at a premium over spot closing of 4290.

The January 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 January 2016.
