Reliance Industries top traded stock future after hitting a record high in cash market.
The Nifty November 2019 futures were at 11,985.80, a premium of 45.70 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,940.10 in the cash market.Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 9.85 lakh crore compared with Rs 7.53 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 55.60 points or 0.47% to 11,940.10.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 2.12% at 15.42. India VIX closed below 16 for fourth day in a row.
On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 28 November 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 22.30 lakh contracts at the 12,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 22.96 lakh contracts was seen at 11,800 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,800 and 12,000 levels for the Nifty.
Reliance, Bharti Airtel and SBI were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Reliance November 2019 futures were at 1,516.95, compared with spot closing price of 1511.55. Bharti Airtel November 2019 futures were at 445 compared with spot closing price of 444.65. SBI November 2019 futures were at 331.35, compared with spot closing price of 331.40.
The November 2019 F&O contracts expire on 28 November 2019.
