Volumes jump at Ahmednagar Forgings counter

Welspun Corp, Sesa Goa, TCS, and Jai Corp are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 18 April 2013.

Ahmednagar Forgings notched up volume of 16.19 lakh shares by 13:38 IST on BSE, a 224.17-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock surged 4.54% to Rs 105.90.

Welspun Corp saw volume of 29.10 lakh shares, a 10.37-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.81 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.27% to Rs 51.70 after two block deals aggregating 24.10 lakh shares were executed on BSE at 10:17 IST. A block deal of 18.60 lakh shares was executed at Rs 52.25 per share. Another block deal of 5.5 lakh shares was executed at Rs 52.65 per share. The two block deals constitute 0.91% of Welspun Corp's equity.

Sesa Goa clocked volume of 12.64 lakh shares, a 4.32-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.92 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.1% to Rs 149.50.

TCS saw volume of 3.66 lakh shares, a 2.76-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.33 lakh shares. The stock lost 0.7% at Rs 1,449.

TCS' consolidated net profit rose 1.9% to Rs 3616 crore on 2.2% growth in revenue to Rs 16430 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q3 December 2012. The company announced Q4 results after market hours on Wednesday, 17 April 2013.

Jai Corp notched up volume of 14.66 lakh shares, a 2.18-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 6.74 lakh shares. The stock surged 4.48% to Rs 64.20.
