Volumes jump at CESC counter

Clariant Chemicals (India), Trent, Gujarat Fluorochemicals and Gujarat Gas Company are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 15 April 2014.

CESC clocked volume of 4.12 lakh shares by 12:39 IST on BSE, a 23.41-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock rose 1.20% to Rs 529.60.

Clariant Chemicals (India) notched up volume of 1.14 lakh shares, a 17.34-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock jumped 7.26% to Rs 708 after the company announced during trading hours today, 15 April 2014, it has entered into an agreement to sell its land located in Kolshet, Thane aggregating to about 87 acres to Ishwer Realty and Technologies (a subsidiary of Lodha Developers) for an aggregate consideration of Rs 1154.25 crore.

Trent saw volume of 66,000 shares, a 15.85-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock fell 0.12% to Rs 994.80.

Gujarat Fluorochemicals clocked volume of 3.21 lakh shares, a 12.34-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 26,000 shares. The stock rose 2.85% to Rs 312.25.

Gujarat Gas Company saw volume of 9.68 lakh shares, a 8.77-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.10 lakh shares. The stock fell 1.93% to Rs 362.60.
