Volumes jump at SRF counter

Bharti Infratel, State Bank of Travancore and Sun TV Network are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 29 October 2014.

SRF clocked volume of 7.26 lakh shares by 13:51 IST on BSE, a 91.02-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock surged 18.06% at Rs 792.80. SRF's net profit surged 60.9% to Rs 76.85 crore on 9.2% rise in net sales to Rs 916.87 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. The Q2 result was announced after market hours yesterday, 28 October 2014.

Bharti Infratel notched up volume of 26.23 lakh shares, a 78.42-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 33,000 shares. The stock gained 0.29% at Rs 290.

State Bank of Travancore saw volume of 2.27 lakh shares, a 23.28-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock fell 1.04% at Rs 445.10.

PI Industries clocked volume of 4.49 lakh shares, a 18.75-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 24,000 shares. The stock lost 6.57% at Rs 413.85. PI Industries' net profit fell 11.4% to Rs 49 crore on 7.8% decline in revenue to Rs 426.60 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013. The Q2 result was announced after market hours yesterday, 28 October 2014.

Sun TV Network saw volume of 8.44 lakh shares, a 13.36-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of shares. The stock rose 1.98% at Rs 316.50.
