About 1,000 people were taken ill after a communal meal at a gathering of the Bohra community here, a Bohra leader said on Monday.
Of the 2,000 or so who took the meal on Sunday evening at a Jama'at Khana, about a thousand fell sick with complaints of vomiting and diarrhoea, one of the organisers said.
The sick were admitted to hospitals in Indore.
