About 1.5 kg of narcotics were found concealed in baby carriers and boxes of neckties at the Auckland Airport in New Zealand, Customs officials said on Monday.

Customs officers on Saturday found the illegal drugs haul in the baggage of a 20-year-old Latvian man.

The amount of narcotics had a street value of around 1.5 million NZ dollars ($1 million), Xinhua quoted a custom officer as saying.

"Customs continue to focus on high risk passengers and goods, and every seizure is a win and success for us," the official added.
