A dozen people were killed and three injured when a truck collided with a multi-utility vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Sonebhadra district late Thursday, police said.
The accident took place in Karma area when the Bolero, packed with passengers returning from a tonsuring ceremony from Vindhyachal, hit head on a truck carrying silt.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sonebhadra Ram Bahadur Yadav told IANS that all the dead were from the same family.
"Twelve people died in the accident and three were injured. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination," the police official said.
