China's top anti-graft body on Wednesday said over 6,000 Communist Party members were responsible for corruption last year.
They were held accountable for undesirable work styles, Xinhua news agency quoted the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) as saying.
After coming to power in 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping launched a drive against corruption.
Many top officials have been prosecuted. Many have been paraded on TV channels and confessed to wrongdoing.
Party members who violated policies on undesirable workstyles accounted for 43 percent of all members castigated for incompetence in implementing accountability and supervision, the corruption watchdog said.
