An abandoned bag with a pistol and ammunition was found inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, police said on Monday.
The black coloured bag was reportedly found by a security guard just 50 meters away from the north gate of JNU campus late Sunday night around 2 a.m., a senior police officer said.
The JNU security control room then alerted the police. On checking the bag police said they found it contained a country-made pistol along with seven cartridges.
A case under the Arms Act was registered against unknown persons in Vasant Kunj, North, police station, the officer said.
