A new maternity and child healthcare centre will be set up at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), its director, M.C. Misra, said Tuesday.
He was addresing a press conference here with Swedish Healthcare, Public Health and Sports Minister Gabriel Wikstrom.
"Senior citizen healthcare and maternity and child healthcare are some of the major areas that need to be looked at right now," Misra told IANS.
On strengthening healthcare ties between India and Sweden, Misra said: "Areas such as cancer research and trauma care research will benefit from a collaboration between India and Sweden."
"Such collaborations are the easiest way to gain expertise and technologies," Misra added.
