Actresses Alyson Hannigan and Megan Hilty have been cast in the television remake of 1996 film "First Wives Club".
The duo will star in the television reboot, which will take place in modern-day San Francisco. Like the original rom-com, the story revolves around three women who were friends and classmates in the 1990s and reconnect after their close friend from college dies in a freak accident, reports variety.com.
Hannigan and Hilty will play two of the three leads. The original movie starred Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton.
"First Wives Club" will mark Hannigan's first major role after "How I Met Your Mother" and Hilty's since "Smash," which turned her into a household name.
While the project has only been greenlit for a pilot, with the two ladies now attached, the series should be appealing for a full series order.
