Army Boys meet Jharkhand in Subroto Cup quarters

Army Boys, Lucknow Cantonment, drubbed Progress Higher Secondary School of Goa 4-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the Under-17 boys in the 55th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here Thursday.

For the Army boys, Rakesh Sunwal, Mohammad Ajamir, C. Samararda Singh and Minaketan Meitei scored.

Nine-man BSL High School, Jharkhand, also moved to the last eight stage, emerging 2-0 winners over 10-man FK Troeschina, Ukraine. Karan Rai and Abhishek Haldar hit the target for the Jharkhand team.

Zhukov, Abhishek and Yumnam Ankesh were all shown double yellow cards and expelled by referee Maria Joseph.

Army Boys take on the Jharkhand side in the quarter-finals.
