The Indian Arrmy on Monday foiled an infiltration bid by killing a separatist guerrilla on the Line of Control (LoC) at Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"One terrorist was killed by the army in Mendhar sector of the LoC in Poonch today when alert troops foiled an infiltration bid from across," defence spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta said in Jammu on Monday.
"Terrorists made an infiltration bid at 3 a.m. today when troops noticed suspicious movements and challenged the intruders. A gunfight ensued during which one terrorist was killed," he said
"Firing has stopped in the area but searches are still going on," he added.
