Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland's sales slid 16 percent in May as compared to the number of vehicles it sold during May 2012, the company said Saturday.
A statement here said the company sold 7,267 units in May 2013, down from 8,655 in May 2012.
The company experienced a major fall in its medium and heavy duty vehicles segment where the sales volume went down by 22 percent.
In the case of small commercial vehicle Dost, Ashok Leyland saw one percent increase in volume to 2,355 units last month compared to May 2012.
