Continuing their spirited form, Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhaman Saha took India to 316 for five at lunch, defying the West Indies bowling attack on the second day of the third Test at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.
Resuming their batting at 234/5 on another sunny day, Ashwin remained unbeaten at 99 from 257 balls with five boundaries and Saha not out on 93 from 208 deliveries with 12 boundaries at the end of the first two-hour session.
The duo is on the verge of making centuries in the post-lunch session and a record sixth wicket unbeaten partnership 190.
Desperate efforts of Windies skipper Jason Holder in shuffling his pacers and spinners could not separate the Indians from batting freely.
Brief Scores: India 316/5 (Ravichandran Ashwin 99, Wriddhiman Saha 93, Alzarri Joseph 2/54, Roston Chase 2/50)
