Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka will miss Wimbledon Open due to her knee injury, the official Twitter account of the tournament has said.
Azarenka withdrew from the first round of Roland Garros playing against Italian Karin Knapp, and since then she has not walked onto a court, reports Xinhua. She announced her decision on Thursday.
Victoria was training for Wimbledon in the Belarusian capital. She worked in the gym, as well as trained on the grass courts of the Minsk tennis center.
Last year, Azarenka got into the Wimbledon's quarterfinals, where she lost to Serena Williams, the ultimate winner, in three sets.
