A Bangladeshi national was arrested here with 400 tablets of yaba drug, also known as methamphetamine, worth Rs 80,000, a Kolkata Police officer said on Thursday.
Tapas Ahmed, a resident of Dhaka, was arrested from central Kolkata's Colin Lane on Wednesday night, Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police Praveen Tripathi said.
According to the police, the accused used to supply the psychotropic substance to a number of hotels and guest houses in central Kolkata.
"Aamed was staying in Kolkata for the last few years without any valid documents. He used to collect the drugs from Bangladesh and supply it to boarders in the hotels including foreigners," the officer said.
