German football giants Bayern Munich on Wednesday signed Brazilian midfielder Douglas Costa from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk on a 30-million-euro deal through June 2020.
After joining Donetsk from Gremio in January 2010, Costa scored 38 goals and helped the Ukrainian side collect five league and three cup titles. The 24-year-old was also part of the Brazilian national team at Copa America, reports Xinhua.
"A dream has come true for me today. I'm proud to become a player for Bayern following in the footsteps of so many magnificent Brazilian players," said Costa.
Bayern sporting director Matthias said: "Douglas Costa will be good for our team. He has great technical ability, a powerful left foot. He is very agile and extremely quick."
