Railways Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said that his ministry would take up projects in West Bengal and provide enhanced capital for them, when the required land is available with the railways.
"All the projects will be taken up as and when we get land for each project. The Railways will focus on those projects and give enhanced capital to those projects where land is available with the Railways so that these projects can come into force and can be completed," he said.
Asked about the metro projects, he said: "Whatever demands and needs are there, will be made."
While highlighting the achievements of the Ministry in the last four years, he said that safety is "paramount" and the massive work undertaken for maintenance of tracks was causing train delays.
