Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Somnath Bharti, who has allegd that Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung had "threatened" him on a change of land use issue, on Friday urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to take this up with President Pranab Mukherjee.

In a letter to the chief minister, Bharti also accused three BJP leaders of using abusive language against him for raising the allotment of Delhi Development Authority land - meant for a school - to the Bharatiya Janata Party for construction of office.

Bharti said he missed a DDA meeting held on September 23, where the change of land use was discussed.

"I along with AAP MLA from Krishna Nagar, S.K. Bagga, opposed the move in a recent meeting on November 5. We were subsequently asked to back off," the AAP leader said.

"Deeply hurt by such a decision, I requested the LG to allow me to put my reservations on record and open the issue for deliberations in the larger interest of the people of Delhi. The LG said that I had no locus standi to speak on this issue anymore as I was not there in the meeting when this issue was taken up," Bharti wrote in his letter.

"I kept on requesting the LG to allow me to speak on the issue. When I did not stop speaking on the issue, he threatened me with an FIR," Bharti said.

"This not only shocked me, but emboldened three BJP leaders, namely Rajni Abbi, Satish Upadhyay and O.P. Sharma, who went to the extent of abusing me and saying that I was better off in jail," Bharti wrote.

"I earnestly request you to take necessary action, including taking up this issue with the President of India," Bharti urged the chief minister.
