A Bihar Police constable, Vijender Shah, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly threatening the police chiefs of Rajasthan and Mumbai, police said.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Vikas Vaibhav said Shah was taken into custody by the Special Task Force.

The constable, posted in Jehanabad district, allegedly threatened the director general of police of Rajasthan and the Mumbai police commissioner over telephone.

Vaibhav said police were yet to know why the constable made the threats. "He would be interrogated by senior police officials," he said.

Police acted against the constable after the Rajasthan and Mumbai Police provided a mobile telephone number of Bihar used for making the threats. It belonged to the arrested man.
