Botswana's national football team beat Malawi 1-0 in a closely contested football friendly at the National Stadium here Wednesday.

A second half goal by striker Jerome Ramatlhakwane was enough to secure a victory for Botswana as they prepare to take on South Africa in a crucial world cup qualifier match Saturday, reports Xinhua.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) based striker headed in a cross by Mogakolodi Ngele on the hour mark to give the home side the win.
