Geneva, July 10 (IANS/EFE) International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach hoped that the usual optimism of Brazilians will help them to forget the heavy 1-7 defeat their football team suffered at the hands of Germany in the World Cup semi-final.
Bach said here Wednesday he knows the Brazilians are optimistic people and hoped they would realize that every defeat creates a new chance which should be used, reports Efe.
Brazil lost their semi-final match to Germany 7-1, five goals of which were scored in the first half leaving the Brazilian fans devastated and speechless.
Bach denied that the defeat will have a negative impact on the Brazilians' desire to host the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
