Border Security Force (BSF) troopers recovered 10 kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in the Amritsar sector, a BSF spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said that the heroin, in 10 packets, was found near Border out Post (BoP) Tota in Amritsar sector, 280 km from here.
The packets were buried in fields before the electrified fence along the border.
The heroin recovered is valued at Rs.50 crore in the international market.
The packets were found following a tip-off about heroin being smuggled into India from Pakistan.
With the latest seizure, the BSF has seized over 52 kg of heroin this year.
The seizure of heroin in 2014 was 361 kg in the Punjab sector.
