The Supreme Court on Friday asked the CBI to inform it by July 31 as to when it would take over all the Vyapam scam cases.
An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice H.L. Dattu also asked the CBI to appoint "independent" lawyers to represent it in different courts dealing with Vyapam cases.
The court said that till then, its last order, allowing the SIT/STF to file chargesheets in cases where investigations have been completed, will continue.
The court said that only after CBI has informed it of the time it will take in taking charge of all Vyapam cases will it will decide on the prayer seeking its monitering of the CBI investigations.
