The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the creation of senior administrative grade post of Chief Works Manager in the Mechanical Department of Diesel Component Factory, Dankuni (West Bengal) under the Eastern Railway.
"This post forms a vital part of the Diesel Component Factory at Dankuni in Eastern Railway. It will strengthen the administrative framework to ensure proper functioning of the factory and to achieve the target outturn. This would cost the Railways a sum of Rs 16,79,400 per annum," said a cabinet communique.
The Diesel Locomotive Component factory at Dankuni has been set up for manufacturing 100 high horsepower diesel locomotive and machining of 72 crank cases per year.
The factory is a sister organisation of Diesel Locomotive Works in Varanasi.
