A CBI court Tuesday rejected RJD chief Lalu Yadav plea to to quash the trial of three cases against him in connection with the multi-million rupee fodder scam.

A former Bihar chief minister, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief said he has already been convicted and sentenced in one of the fodder scam cases. The other three cases are of similar nature so the trial should be quashed.

The CBI opposed the plea on the ground that crores of rupees have been siphoned off from the treasury and that the three cases against him differed from each other.

The former chief minister was convicted and jailed for four years in a fodder scam case last year. He is currently out on bail.
