The CBI submitted its internal probe report into the suicides of former Corporate Affairs Director General B.K. Bansal and his family members to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in December 2016, an official said on Wednesday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted the report to NHRC in December after a senior joint director-rank officer, who was not in the chain of command, completed its inquiry into the suicide notes left by Bansal and his 31-year-old son Yogesh.
Bansal, 60, named several CBI officials for making "my family life hell", including Deputy Inspector General Sanjeev Gautam, Superintendent of Police Amrita Kaur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rekha Sangwan and Investigating Officer Harnam Singh, apart from an unnamed head constable.
The CBI initiated an internal probe in twin suicide case based on the hand written notes of Bansal and his son.
Bansal, was arrested on July 16 for allegedly accepting bribe from a prominent pharmaceutical company. Days later, his wife Satyabala and daughter Neha ended their lives.
On September 27, Bansal allegedly hanged himself along with his son at their residence, leaving behind a suicide note, alleging harassment by the CBI.
