Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres expects that the UEFA Champions League final between his team and Real Madrid will be different from all other previous clashes between the Spanish capital football clubs.
Atletico face Real in the Champions League final on May 28 in Milan's San Siro Stadium. While Atletico moved past Bayern Munich in the semi-final, Real got the better of Manchester City in their last four battle.
During a forum on sports organised by EFE in Madrid, Torres on Thursday said: "The final differs from everything else, even from previous matches in La Liga and the Copa del Rey. It is a good chance offered by soccer and life. We are confident about what we want and what we are going to do."
El Nino, who was not among the Rojiblancos during the Champions League final of 2014, said that the situation off the pitch is worse than that on the inside.
"It is worse outside, but inside the pitch, there is some tension during important games," Torres said.
The Spaniard added: "I watched the Barcelona match (Champions League quarter-finals) from the stands. The situation was much worse off the pitch."
Before heading to the Italian city of Milan to play the Champions League final, Atletico have one match to go in La Liga against Celta Vigo at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday.
"We want to play this match as part of the preparations. Three no-play weeks is not a good thing. We want to win and dedicate one last victory at the Vicente Calderon to the fans," Torres concluded.
